Privacy Policy

This policy took effect on November 1, 2026, which is also the date it was last updated. It explains what happens to your information when you use kitchendimes.com or contact the site. Kitchen Dimes collects very little, but some information is still processed by the services that make the site work.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to kitchendimes.com, its contact form and the email address hello@kitchendimes.com. Kitchen Dimes is run by the site’s owner, who is not named publicly. No company name, street address or telephone number is published for the site. The contact route for anything in this policy is the email address above. In this policy, “Kitchen Dimes” means the website and its owner. This policy doesn’t cover what outside companies do with information under their own control. Cloudflare provides the site’s hosting and security services, and Amazon runs the store its affiliate links lead to. Those companies have their own privacy policies, which are identified below. This policy should be read with the Terms and the Disclosure.

Information Kitchen Dimes handles

The site has no user accounts, comments, newsletter, online sales or payments, and you don’t need to share personal information to read it. The site itself keeps no database of messages or visitors.

Information you provide

The contact form asks for your name, email address, subject and message. If you write to hello@kitchendimes.com, Kitchen Dimes receives your email address, your display name if your email service includes one, and whatever you put in the message. Messages may also include details you choose to add, such as an appliance’s brand and model, a description of a problem, a page address or a link to a source. Please leave out sensitive personal information, because it isn’t needed for a kitchen question.

Information processed automatically

When you visit the site, your browser sends standard request data to Cloudflare, which serves and protects the site. That data includes your IP address and can include details such as the page requested, your browser and device type and the time of the request. When you use the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser and device signals to check for bots. A Cloudflare Worker then delivers your form submission to the owner’s private inbox. Email sent to the site’s address passes through Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards it to that same inbox. Standard email information, such as sending address, delivery time and technical headers, travels with a forwarded message.

Information received from others

Cloudflare Turnstile returns the result of its check on a form submission. Amazon’s Associates reporting may show activity connected with the site’s Associates tag, such as clicks, items ordered and earnings. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t receive your Amazon account details or payment information. A person who writes to the site may also mention information about someone else, so please only share what you are allowed to share.

Cookies and local storage

Kitchen Dimes sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The site stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage so that the setting is remembered on your device. That stored choice isn’t a cookie, and it can be removed by clearing your browser’s site data. Cloudflare Turnstile may use browser signals on the contact form. Amazon may set cookies when you follow an affiliate link, under Amazon’s own practices. This policy doesn’t say that no cookie of any kind will ever appear, because outside providers control their own technologies.

Legal bases for processing

The site is aimed at readers in the United States, and many United States laws don’t use the concept of a legal basis. If a law that does require a legal basis applies to your information, the bases below are the ones that fit how the site works. Kitchen Dimes processes your message because of its legitimate interest in reading and answering what you chose to send. It relies on the same interest to keep the site running, to protect it from spam and abuse, and to fix errors that readers report. It may also process information where a legal obligation requires it. The site doesn’t rely on a contract with you, because it has no accounts, purchases or paid services. The site doesn’t ask for consent to analytics or advertising, because it doesn’t use either.

How information is used

Kitchen Dimes uses information only for the practical purposes listed here.

  • It uses your message and contact details to read and answer your question.
  • It uses corrections and suggestions to check facts, fix errors and decide what readers care about.
  • It uses request data, through Cloudflare, to deliver pages and keep the site working.
  • It uses Turnstile checks and related security signals to reduce spam, automated abuse and attacks.
  • It uses your theme choice to show the site the way you asked.
  • It uses affiliate tag activity to understand the commissions the site earns.
  • It may use information to comply with the law, or to protect the rights and safety of the site, its owner, its readers and others.

Kitchen Dimes doesn’t use your messages for marketing, and it doesn’t add you to a mailing list when you write in. It doesn’t build advertising profiles of readers. It won’t publish your personal details without your permission. It may use the substance of a message to improve the site, as the Terms explain.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

Kitchen Dimes does not use analytics or traffic measurement. The old site’s Universal Analytics tag stopped collecting when Google retired that service, and it was not carried over to the current site. The site doesn’t show display advertising, and it doesn’t use advertising cookies of its own. No ad network, retargeting service or advertising pixel is active on the site. The site has no newsletter or email list, so it sends no marketing email. The one commercial tracking feature is the Associates tag in the site’s Amazon links, which tells Amazon that a visit came from Kitchen Dimes. After you follow one of those links, Amazon may use its own cookies and technologies, including for its own advertising, under its own privacy notice.

Sharing and legal disclosures

Kitchen Dimes doesn’t sell your messages or the personal information in them. The site doesn’t share them for targeted advertising or for anyone else’s direct marketing. Information does pass through or reach certain parties in the following situations.

  • Cloudflare receives request data, contact form submissions, Turnstile signals and email sent to the site’s address, because it provides those services.
  • Whichever mailbox service hosts the owner’s private inbox may process and store the messages delivered there.
  • Amazon receives information directly from your browser when you choose to follow an affiliate link.
  • A person or authority may receive information if Kitchen Dimes believes disclosure is required by law or valid legal process.
  • A person or authority may also receive information where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety or property, or to investigate fraud, security problems or abuse.
  • A buyer or successor may receive information held by the owner if the site is sold, transferred or reorganized, and this policy or a clear replacement would continue to apply.

These disclosures are not sales of your information for money. The word “sale” can have a broader meaning under some state laws, and the state sections of this policy address that separately.

Third-party services

The services below are the ones active on the site as of the date of this policy.

  • Cloudflare hosting and Workers serve the site and process request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it.
  • A Cloudflare Worker delivers each contact form submission to the owner’s private inbox.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks contact form submissions for bots, and it processes browser and device signals to do so.
  • Cloudflare Email Routing forwards mail sent to hello@kitchendimes.com to the owner’s private inbox.
  • The Amazon Services LLC Associates Program provides the affiliate links in the site’s product roundups.

Cloudflare handles information under its privacy policy and its Turnstile privacy addendum. Amazon handles information under its privacy notice. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t control those policies, and they may change.

Your rights and choices

You can read Kitchen Dimes without giving the site any personal information. You can choose not to use the contact form or email address. If you would rather not go through the Turnstile check, you can send an email instead of using the form. You can skip the site’s Amazon links and go to a seller directly, or buy somewhere else. You can use your browser’s controls to block or delete cookies and to clear local storage, although clearing it will reset your theme choice. Private browsing modes, script blocking and similar tools can reduce what is stored, but they may stop Turnstile and the contact form from working.

You can ask for a copy of a message you sent, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to hello@kitchendimes.com. Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, and the sections below describe some of them. The email address is the request procedure, and there is no automated system or web portal. Kitchen Dimes may ask you to write from the address you originally used, or to confirm other details, so that it can check that the request is really yours. That check is meant to keep someone else from reaching your messages, and only as much information as needed will be requested. Where the law allows it, an authorized agent may make a request for you, and proof of authority may be required. Kitchen Dimes can act on messages held by the owner, but it can’t delete information held independently by Cloudflare, Amazon or a mailbox provider. A request may be refused or limited where the law allows, such as where information must be kept for legal reasons. You won’t be treated worse for making a privacy request. For information held by Amazon or Cloudflare, use the choices described in their own policies.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS through Cloudflare. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. The site has no user accounts, and it stores no personal data of its own in a site database. These measures reduce risk, but no website, network, email service or storage system is completely secure. Kitchen Dimes can’t guarantee that information sent to it will be protected against every failure or attack. Email in particular can pass through several systems before it arrives, so don’t send anything you need to keep highly confidential. If you think there is a security problem with the site, please write to hello@kitchendimes.com.

Retention

Kitchen Dimes doesn’t keep a site database of messages. Contact form messages and email are held in the owner’s private inbox, where they stay under the owner’s ordinary email retention. This policy doesn’t promise a fixed retention period, because none has been set. Whether a message is kept depends on factors such as whether a conversation is ongoing, whether the message supports a correction, and whether it needs to be kept for legal or security reasons. You can ask for a message to be deleted, as described in the rights section above. A deleted message may remain for a time in a mail provider’s own systems. Request data and Turnstile signals are retained by Cloudflare under its own policies. Information that Amazon collects is retained under Amazon’s own policies. Your theme choice stays in your browser until you clear it.

Children and intended audience

Kitchen Dimes is written for adult home cooks in the United States. The site is not directed to children under 13, and it doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from them. Children under 13 should not use the contact form or send email to the site. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has sent the site personal information, write to hello@kitchendimes.com. You may be asked for enough detail to find the message, and it can then be deleted from the owner’s inbox.

International processing

The site is aimed at readers in the United States, but it can be reached from elsewhere. Cloudflare runs a global network, so your request may be handled at a location outside your own state or country. Amazon.com is a United States store, and Amazon may process information in other countries as its own privacy notice describes. The location of the owner and of the owner’s private inbox isn’t published, so your message may be stored outside your state or country. The laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live. This policy doesn’t claim any particular transfer safeguard, and the safeguards used by Cloudflare or Amazon are described in their own policies.

External websites

Kitchen Dimes links to other websites, including Amazon, manufacturers, public agencies and other sources. Those sites run independently of Kitchen Dimes, and they have their own privacy practices. This policy stops applying once you leave kitchendimes.com. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t control what other sites collect, and it isn’t responsible for their privacy practices. Please read the privacy notice of any site before you give it personal information.

California privacy information

This section gives information for California residents, and some of it depends on whether a particular law applies to Kitchen Dimes. The California Consumer Privacy Act applies only to businesses that meet its legal thresholds, and this policy doesn’t assume that Kitchen Dimes meets them. If that law does apply, California residents may have rights to know, access, delete and correct personal information. They may also have rights to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and to be free from retaliation for using those rights. The categories involved are identifiers such as a name, email address and IP address, the contents of messages, and internet activity such as request data handled by Cloudflare. The sources, purposes and recipients of that information are described earlier in this policy. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t sell personal information, and it doesn’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents can make a request by emailing hello@kitchendimes.com, and it will be handled through the procedure described in the rights section. Under California’s Shine the Light law, residents may ask about certain disclosures to third parties for direct marketing, and Kitchen Dimes makes no such disclosures.

Some browsers send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Kitchen Dimes hasn’t built a specific response to those signals, because it runs no analytics or advertising tracking of its own for them to switch off. Amazon and Cloudflare decide for themselves how they respond to those signals on their services. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t control whether those providers collect information about your activity across sites and over time. This policy explains how to review, correct or delete a message you sent, and how changes to this policy are announced.

Nevada and other regional rights

Nevada law lets certain consumers ask an operator covered by that law not to sell certain covered information. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t sell covered information for money, but Nevada residents can still send a request to hello@kitchendimes.com. A number of other states have privacy laws that give residents rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal data, or to opt out of sale, targeted advertising and certain profiling. Those laws usually apply only to organizations that meet particular thresholds, and this policy doesn’t assume that Kitchen Dimes is covered by any of them. If one applies to you and to the site, you can use the email procedure in the rights section. If a law gives you a right to appeal a decision, reply to the decision by email and explain why you disagree.

The site isn’t aimed at readers outside the United States. If the data protection law of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region does apply to your information, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. You can send those requests by email as well, and you may have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Nothing in this policy limits a right that the law gives you where you live.

Changes to this policy

This page will be updated if the site’s forms, services, analytics, advertising, affiliate setup or data practices change. The date at the top shows when it last changed. The site has no accounts or mailing list, so it has no way to notify readers individually, and changes are announced by updating this page. If a change requires notice or consent under applicable law, Kitchen Dimes will follow that requirement. A change won’t apply retroactively in a way the law doesn’t allow.

Contact and complaints

Privacy questions, requests and complaints can be sent to hello@kitchendimes.com or through the form on the Contact page. Email to that address is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the site owner’s private inbox and handled by the owner. The contact form is active, and a Cloudflare Worker sends each submission to that same inbox. No response time is promised, and either route may occasionally fail, so try the other route if you hear nothing about an important request. The site doesn’t publish a telephone number or street address for privacy requests. If you aren’t satisfied, you may be able to complain to the attorney general or consumer protection agency in your state, or to your local data protection authority.
