Terms
These terms were last updated on November 1, 2026. They set out the rules for using kitchendimes.com and the limits on what the site can do for you. Please read the safety, warranty and liability sections closely, because they affect your legal rights.
Acceptance of these terms and related policies
These terms apply to everyone who reads or otherwise uses kitchendimes.com, including the Contact page and any message sent through it. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please stop using the site. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, and the Disclosure explains how the site earns money and how its content is researched. Those pages should be read together with these terms. In these terms, “Kitchen Dimes” means the website and, where the context calls for it, the person or business that owns and operates it. The site’s owner is not named publicly, and no company name, street address or telephone number is published for the site. The “Kitchen Dimes parties” are the site’s owners, its operators and its contributors, together with their respective successors, assigns, agents and representatives. A contributor is anyone who writes, researches, edits, reviews, illustrates or otherwise helps prepare or maintain the site. The site is free to read, and you don’t need an account or a payment to use it.
What Kitchen Dimes offers
Kitchen Dimes publishes plain answers and buying guides for home cooks who are choosing, using and caring for kitchen appliances and cookware. Its subjects include stoves, ovens, microwaves, range hoods, refrigerators, dishwashers, coffee makers, blenders, pressure canners, pans and knives. The site is written for adult home cooks in the United States, including both renters and homeowners. Everything published on the site is general information. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t sell products, take payments, install appliances, perform repairs, inspect homes or provide customer support for any manufacturer or seller. The site has no user accounts, public comments, newsletter or online store. The site’s earlier articles were published on WordPress from 2020 to 2022, and they keep their original text and publication dates after the move to the current site. Those older articles may not reflect current products, prices, instructions or guidance. Kitchen Dimes may change, move, correct or remove any page, feature or article at any time. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t promise that the site or any part of it will always be available, uninterrupted, fast or free of technical problems. The site may be unavailable during maintenance, provider outages, network problems or for other reasons. The contact form or the email address may also stop working from time to time, so an important message may not arrive.
Permitted use and prohibited conduct
You may read the site, follow its links and use its information for your own personal, noncommercial purposes. The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. You are responsible for how you use the site and for the device and connection you use to reach it. The following conduct is not allowed.
- You may not use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law or violates another person’s rights.
- You may not scrape, harvest or bulk copy the site by automated means, except for ordinary search engine indexing that follows the site’s published crawling rules.
- You may not use the site’s content to build a competing database or to train machine learning or artificial intelligence systems without written permission.
- You may not probe, attack, overload or disrupt the site, its hosting or the systems connected to it.
- You may not introduce malware or any other harmful code.
- You may not bypass or attempt to defeat Cloudflare Turnstile or any other security or access control.
- You may not send spam, automated submissions, or abusive, harassing, threatening, deceptive or unlawful messages through the contact form or email address.
- You may not impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection to any person, business or to Kitchen Dimes.
- You may not frame or mirror the site, or suggest that Kitchen Dimes endorses you, your business or your products.
- You may not generate artificial clicks or purchases, or otherwise manipulate the site’s affiliate links.
Intellectual property and permitted reuse
The text, images, design and other original material on Kitchen Dimes are protected to the extent the law allows, and they belong to the site’s owner or to the licensors of that material. The site’s content may not be republished, sold, licensed or adapted without written permission. You are welcome to read the site, share links to it and keep notes for your own personal use. Nothing in these terms limits a use that copyright law allows without permission, such as fair use. Product names, brand names and trademarks mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners. A mention of a brand or product does not mean that its owner sponsors, endorses or is connected with Kitchen Dimes. If you believe material on the site infringes your rights, write to hello@kitchendimes.com and include the page address, the material you are concerned about, your rights in it and a way to reach you. The site does not name a registered copyright agent, so email is the available route for these inquiries. Kitchen Dimes may review an inquiry and may remove or change the material it concerns, but sending an inquiry doesn’t guarantee a particular result. This process doesn’t limit any right or remedy the law gives you.
Your messages and the absence of public user content
Kitchen Dimes has no comments, forums, reviews or accounts, so visitors can’t post public content on the site. The only way to send something to the site is privately, through the contact form or by email to hello@kitchendimes.com. Readers typically send kitchen questions, product suggestions and corrections. When you send a message, you confirm that you are allowed to share it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You also confirm that your message doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights or break any law. Please don’t send passwords, payment details, medical records or other sensitive information, because none of that is needed for a kitchen question. You keep ownership of what you write. You allow Kitchen Dimes to use the substance of your question, suggestion or correction, without payment, to answer you, to correct the site and to improve its content. Kitchen Dimes won’t publish your personal details without your permission. No response time is promised, and Kitchen Dimes may not reply to every message. A suggestion doesn’t guarantee that a product or subject will be covered. Any reply is general information based only on what you described, and it isn’t a diagnosis, inspection or professional opinion about your appliance or home.
No professional advice and kitchen safety
Nothing on Kitchen Dimes is professional, legal, medical, nutritional, electrical, gas, plumbing, engineering or appliance repair advice. Kitchen Dimes can’t see your appliance, your wiring, your gas line, your venting, your food or your home. The site’s editorial voice is not a licensed technician, electrician, gas fitter, dietitian or physician, and the site is not a test lab. Using the site doesn’t create a professional, advisory or client relationship with any of the Kitchen Dimes parties. You are responsible for deciding whether any information fits your situation, and for the safety of anything you do. Your appliance’s manual, the manufacturer’s instructions, your local codes and a qualified professional who has seen your situation all take priority over anything on this site. Stop if a job is beyond your skill, your tools or your comfort. If you rent your home, check your lease and ask your landlord before changing wiring, gas connections, ducting or installed appliances. The risks below are examples, and they are not a complete list.
Electrical work
Dedicated circuits, outlets and hardwired connections for refrigerators, ranges, range hoods and other appliances carry a risk of electric shock, fire and damage to equipment. Follow local codes, and hire a licensed electrician for this work. An article that mentions circuit size or outlet type doesn’t confirm that your home’s wiring is suitable.
Gas appliances and venting
Gas appliances, venting and range hood ducting can cause fire, explosion and carbon monoxide exposure when they are installed or maintained incorrectly. Gas lines belong with a qualified professional, and you should not attempt that work yourself. Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions and local requirements for venting and clearances. If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the area and call emergency services or your gas utility from a safe place.
Home pressure canning
Home pressure canning done incorrectly can cause botulism, which is a serious and potentially fatal illness. Contaminated food may not look, smell or taste wrong. Follow tested USDA or extension service procedures and your canner’s manual, and don’t rely on an article, a shortcut or an untested recipe in their place. Pressure canners also involve hot steam and pressure, which can cause burns and other injuries when they are misused.
Microwaves and ovens
Safety questions about metal, plastics, paper and glass in a microwave or oven depend on the specific product. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for both the appliance and the item you are heating. A general answer on this site can’t confirm that your particular container, dish or paper product is safe.
Food safety
Food safety questions, such as reheating chicken or warming breast milk, should be checked against current USDA, FDA and pediatric guidance. Guidance can change, and an article may not reflect the newest version. People who are pregnant, elderly, immunocompromised or feeding infants may need more specific guidance from a health professional. If you think someone has food poisoning or another medical problem, contact a medical professional or emergency services.
Knives, mandolines and hot cookware
Knives, mandolines and hot cookware can cause cuts and burns. Use the guards, handles and protective equipment that the manufacturer recommends, and keep these items out of the reach of children.
Appliance repair and warranties
Repairs inside microwaves and sealed refrigerant systems are hazardous and may void warranties. Microwaves can store a dangerous electrical charge even when unplugged, and refrigerant handling is regulated. These jobs belong with a qualified technician. For any other repair, disconnect power, water or gas as the manufacturer directs, and check your warranty before you start. A repair can cause injury, leaks, flooding, fire, further damage to the appliance or the loss of warranty coverage.
Editorial personas and generated portraits
The writers named on Kitchen Dimes are fictional editorial personas, and Tim Rhodes is one of them. The portraits shown with those bylines are generated images, and they don’t depict real people. The personal details attached to a byline, including a hometown, an age, family stories and accounts of past appliance problems, are part of the persona. Those details should not be read as facts about a real person. The author biographies do not say this themselves, so please rely on this section and the Disclosure when you weigh them. A persona’s background is not a credential, a license or a qualification. It is also not evidence that a product is good, that a repair is safe or that a recommendation is right. First-person wording on the site, including on the Contact page, is part of the site’s editorial voice. Messages sent through the site are handled by the site’s owner. Judge each article by the sources and reasoning it offers, and check anything important against the manufacturer or another reliable source.
Products, prices and accuracy
Kitchen Dimes tries to keep its information useful, but it can’t promise that everything is complete, current or free of errors. Product roundups summarize listings, specifications and buyer reviews, and products are not tested hands-on. The answers on the site are research summaries of manuals, manufacturer specifications, public safety guidance, product listings and buyer reviews. Those sources can themselves be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Product details, prices, availability, model numbers and manufacturer instructions can change at any time. Confirm anything important with the manufacturer or seller before you buy or act on it. The Disclosure describes the site’s research methods and limits in more detail.
Warranty disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Kitchen Dimes parties disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy and quiet enjoyment. The Kitchen Dimes parties don’t warrant that the site will be available, secure or free of errors, viruses or other harmful components. They also don’t warrant that any information, product, repair approach or buying decision will be safe, suitable, successful or cost-effective for you. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t sell products, so any warranty on a product comes from its manufacturer or seller and not from Kitchen Dimes. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranties to be disclaimed. Where that is the case, these disclaimers apply only as far as the law allows, and your non-excludable rights are preserved.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, none of the Kitchen Dimes parties, including the site’s owners, operators and contributors, will be liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from or relating to your use of the site, your inability to use it, or your reliance on its content. This limitation covers indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary and punitive damages. It also covers, to the same extent, the following kinds of harm and loss.
- It covers personal injury, illness, death, electric shock, burns, cuts, fire, explosion, carbon monoxide exposure and foodborne illness, including botulism.
- It covers damage to your home, appliances, cookware, wiring, plumbing, venting or other property, and the loss of food.
- It covers repair costs, replacement costs, voided warranties, lost savings, lost time and lost data.
- It covers any decision to repair, keep, replace or buy a product.
- It covers products, listings, prices, sales, delivery, returns, warranties and services from Amazon, manufacturers, sellers or other third parties.
- It covers errors, omissions, outdated information and interruptions in the site’s availability.
- It covers messages that are lost, delayed or not answered, and any reply that you rely on.
This limitation applies whatever the legal theory, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute or otherwise, and even if a Kitchen Dimes party was told that a loss was possible. It protects the site’s owners, operators and contributors both individually and together. The site is offered free of charge, and these limits are part of the basis on which it is offered. These terms don’t set a fixed dollar cap on liability.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability or right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Depending on where you live, that may include liability for fraud, willful injury, certain violations of law, or gross negligence. In California, for example, Civil Code section 1668 restricts contracts that would exempt a person from responsibility for those kinds of wrongs. Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, including incidental or consequential damages. Where that is the case, the limitations above apply only to the extent the law allows, and any remaining liability is limited to the minimum the law permits. This section doesn’t promise that the Kitchen Dimes parties can never be liable or can never be sued.
Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Kitchen Dimes parties from third-party claims, losses, damages, liabilities and reasonable costs that arise from your own conduct described below. That conduct includes your breach of these terms and your misuse of the site. It includes your violation of any law or of another person’s rights. It includes anything you send to the site that infringes rights or is unlawful. It includes your republication or commercial use of the site’s content without permission. It includes work you carry out or arrange on another person’s appliance or property. This section is not triggered simply because you read the site. It doesn’t apply to the extent that a claim results from a Kitchen Dimes party’s own fraud, willful misconduct or other conduct for which the law doesn’t allow indemnity. This section is subject to any consumer protection law or other mandatory rule that limits it.
Third-party links, content and products
Kitchen Dimes links to third-party sites, including Amazon, manufacturers, safety agencies and other sources. The site also refers to products, listings, specifications and buyer reviews that come from third parties. Kitchen Dimes doesn’t control those sites or companies, and it doesn’t review everything on them. Kitchen Dimes isn’t responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, products, sales, shipping, returns, warranties, security or policies. A link is not an endorsement of a site or a guarantee about what you will find there. Any purchase is a transaction between you and the seller, and any problem with a product should be taken up with the seller or manufacturer. When you leave Kitchen Dimes, the other site’s own terms and privacy practices apply. The site also relies on third-party providers such as Cloudflare, and it doesn’t control their operations.
Affiliate and commercial relationships
Kitchen Dimes participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Product roundups link to Amazon with the site’s Associates tag, and the site earns from qualifying purchases made through those links. The commission doesn’t add to the price you pay. The site has no sponsored posts, paid placements, display advertising or other affiliate programs. The Disclosure gives the full explanation of these relationships. You are never required to use an affiliate link.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the site, contact Kitchen Dimes or follow an Amazon link. It also explains your choices and how to send a privacy request. That policy is part of how the site operates, and you should read it alongside these terms.
Restriction or termination of access
Kitchen Dimes has no user accounts, so there is no account to suspend or close. Kitchen Dimes may still restrict or end anyone’s access to all or part of the site, with or without notice, to the extent the law allows. That can include blocking requests, addresses or networks through Cloudflare, or refusing to read or answer messages from a particular sender. This may happen if Kitchen Dimes believes someone has broken these terms, misused the site or put the site or others at risk. Kitchen Dimes may also stop operating the site or any feature of it at any time. The sections on intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, disputes, severability and waiver continue to apply after your use of the site ends.
Governing law and mandatory rights
These terms don’t currently select a governing law, a court or a place where claims must be brought. Questions about these terms will therefore be decided under whatever law applies under the ordinary legal rules. Nothing in these terms takes away a mandatory consumer protection or other right that applies to you where you live.
Disputes
These terms don’t require arbitration, and they don’t contain a class action waiver or a mandatory dispute procedure. If you have a concern about the site, you are welcome to write to hello@kitchendimes.com, because many problems can be sorted out with a plain explanation. Writing first is an invitation and not a condition of any legal right you have. A message sent by email or through the contact form may not count as formal legal notice.
Severability
If a court or other authority finds any part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only as far as necessary. The rest of these terms will stay in effect.
No waiver
If Kitchen Dimes doesn’t enforce a provision of these terms, or delays in enforcing it, that doesn’t waive the right to enforce it later. A waiver applies only if it is given in writing, and only to the matter it specifically addresses.
Entire agreement
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Disclosure, are the whole agreement between you and Kitchen Dimes about your use of the site. They replace earlier versions of these terms and any earlier understanding on that subject. An article, a persona’s biography or an emailed reply doesn’t change these terms. This section doesn’t limit any mandatory protection that applies to you under applicable law.
Assignment
Kitchen Dimes may transfer the site and its rights and obligations under these terms, including as part of a sale, reorganization or change of ownership, to the extent the law allows. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without written permission. These terms benefit the Kitchen Dimes parties and their successors and assigns.
Events outside reasonable control
Kitchen Dimes isn’t responsible for a delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, to the extent the law allows. Those events can include provider or network outages, cyberattacks, power failures, natural disasters, public emergencies, government actions, labor disputes and changes to third-party services.
Changes to these terms
Kitchen Dimes may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Kitchen Dimes has no mailing list or accounts, so changes are generally announced only by updating this page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms, to the extent the law allows. A change doesn’t apply to a dispute or a claim based on events that happened before the change took effect. If the law requires a particular form of notice or consent, Kitchen Dimes will follow that requirement.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@kitchendimes.com or through the form on the Contact page. Both routes deliver messages to the site owner’s private inbox. No response time is promised. The site doesn’t publish a telephone number or street address. Don’t use the contact form or email for an emergency, and call emergency services or your gas utility if you are in immediate danger.
